How To Install A Bedroom Wall Light?

Sep 03, 2025

1. Determine the height and location
Before installing a bedroom wall light, be sure to determine the desired height and location. The typical installation height for a bedroom wall light is approximately 14-1.7 meters. The specific height depends on the actual bedroom area and the height of the house. Measure the height and location carefully and mark the screw holes on the wall.

2. Drill the screw holes

Drill holes in the bedroom wall at the locations marked for screws. Before drilling, be sure to pay attention to the wiring layout to avoid drilling into electrical wiring and causing unnecessary safety hazards.

3. Install the screws

Insert the expansion screws into the drilled holes. Use a hammer to drive the screws into the wall until they are fully seated and secure.

4. Secure the lamp holder

Place the wall light mounting plate on the wall where the expansion screws have been installed. Thread the wood screws through the wall light mounting plate and secure them to the expansion screws. When attaching the wall sconce, it's best to have someone hold the mounting plate for you to prevent the wood screws from shifting when securing the base.
5. Connecting the Power Cord
After installing the base and ceiling mount, you can connect the wall sconce to the power cord. Before doing so, be sure to turn off the power cord. Be careful not to misconnect the blue neutral wire, red live wire, and yellow-green ground wire. Otherwise, you'll need to remove and reinstall them after installation, which can be very troublesome and time-consuming.
6. Finally, install the wall sconce on the base and turn on the power cord. The wall sconce is now installed and ready for use.
